Get Your Goals in Order

0

Writing down a plan for the new year in a journal. The new year is upon us, and I’m ready for it to begin. I don’t know about you, but each year I like to come up with a (realistic) list of goals to achieve throughout the year.

I’m not big on making resolutions, but I do believe that having goals (big or small) to strive for is always a good thing.

I am also getting on the bandwagon of finding my words for the year this year. You may have seen this practice yourself in some shape or form online. I’ve seen a word-search-type image going around social media. The three words you see first will be your words for the year. In case you’re interested, my words are:

Connections
Miracles
Creation
Gratitude (I added a fourth because I liked this one so much).

I honestly think that the words of the year couple nicely with setting goals.

I’m a big believer in making your goals more attainable by writing them down and revisiting them every so often to check on your progress, what needs some modifications, and how to make more headway.

A vision board works well for this if you feel like being creative and doing some arts and crafts. Find some magazines and cut out words, phrases, and photos of things that will help you on your path. But remember to display it somewhere where you’ll look at it every so often to keep the ideas fresh in the forefront of your mind.

This is also a great project for kids to do as well. What do they want to accomplish this year? Maybe it’s conquering riding a bike with no training wheels, learning a new instrument, or even mastering a Tik Tok dance.

Whatever it may be, take the time to focus, write down some ideas, or even craft some imagery. 2023 is a fresh start for all of us, and I can’t wait to see what this new year brings.
