Getting Pampered at Glo Beauty Bar

As moms we are all so busy and tired! With full calendars and busy schedules carving out time for ourselves (without feeling guilty) is hard, but we should never be too busy to take the time to hang out with friends and get pampered. I’m a strong believer that if something is important to you, you can find the time. Rather than make a resolution this year, I was encouraged to choose a focus word to guide me throughout the year. This year I’m all about JOY. I want to stop trying to do it all and pick and choose the things that really bring joy into my life. And Glo Beauty Bar in Mamaroneck did just that!

My Westchester County Moms Blog contributor team was invited in for a night of pampering. Yes please! New York-based celebrity makeup artist Heather Adessa, CEO, founder and lead makeup artist of Glo Beauty Bar, began her career 13 years ago behind a department store makeup counter. Now, she is one of the top called-upon wedding makeup artists in suburban NYC and the local ‘bible’ to all things Westchester County.

As the team arrived we were instantly made to feel comfortable and confident. We were greeted with wine and big smiles. As a small business, Heather and her team, take great pride in each client that walks through the door.

We all got the opportunity to get our hair styled and our makeup done. Sitting at each station their glam squad took the time to get to know each of us and our unique style. When it comes to glam, sadly I’m pretty basic. Mostly due to the fact that I have no time and there is someone always waiting for me outside the bathroom door.

That night I wanted something a little bit different than my straightened hair. I trusted my stylist Gabby, and as she did her magic we talked about everything from kids to date nights and everything in between. She was able to transform my hair into perfect waves and tame the frizz and static from all this dry heat. I was also given a bunch of tips on how to style my hair without my straightener. Bye bye damaged hair!

Then on I went to Caity’s makeup chair. I don’t wear much makeup on a daily basis, however I will never leave the house without mascara and a light lip tint. I was given more tips on how to improve my morning beauty routine and the colors that work best with my eyes. Heather’s whole team really inspires and educates through personalized beauty. Everyone took their time and made me feel so special.

As if the night wasn’t fun enough, Beascakes Bakery in Armonk provided the most amazingly delicious cookies and donuts – with our logo and WC Moms Blog colors! They pride themselves on going the extra-mile to create the most detailed, elegant one-of-a-kind cakes, cookies and desserts. They believe that nothing brings people together more than sharing a sweet treat. And let me tell you, their chocolate chip cookies are by far the best I have ever had!

We all left the salon that night feeling like we were a more enhanced version of ourselves. And who doesn’t feel great after a fun night hanging with girlfriends!? We can’t wait to go back!

Not only is Glo Beauty Bar a full service salon, they provide bridal hair and makeup both in the salon and on location. You can see a full list of services and information on their website. Also be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram!
