I know how important date nights are, but to be honest they rarely happen. When they do we usually go to the same old restaurants and then come home to catch up on our TV shows. So I was beyond excited when I was given the opportunity to attend the opening night of Sister Act at the Westchester Broadway Theatre. I mean dinner, drinks, AND a live show. Now that’s a date night!
On arrival we were greeted by the friendliest staff and shown to our seats…front and center stage! Really any table at the theater is great. Cocktails and salads were delivered to the table and we had a moment to choose our entrees. I went with the stuffed filet of sole and my husband chose the prime rib. Both were delicious and the dessert was even better!
The show featured amazing original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast, Newsies, Enchanted), dazzling dance routines and songs inspired by Motown, Soul, and Disco. This show was definitely funny and funky! I honestly can’t remember the last time my husband and I laughed so hard together.
Show times are Wednesday and Thursday (and some Friday) Matinees, serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the show starting at 1:00 p.m. Evening shows are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with dinner served at 6:30 p.m and the show starting at 8:00 p.m. On Sundays you can either attend a matinee or evening performance.
