A Mom’s Guide to Westchester County Events :: July 2018

Summer is in full swing. The sun is shining, the pool is warm, and the grill is fired up. What else could a Westchester Mom want? How about some fun activities to do you with your family this month? Westchester is packed with places to go and things to do all month long. So gather up the kids, the suntan lotion, and the water bottles, and get ready for some fun. July EventsJune 29 – July 7

  • Harbor Island, Mamaroneck ::  Mamaroneck Fireman’s Carnival is an annual carnival full of fun for all ages. Rides, games, and food make for a fun family night. Parking and bathrooms are available. July 2nd at 7:00 p.m. the Firemen’s Parade will take place down Mamaroneck Avenue concluding at the carnival. July 4th will also feature a concert and a fireworks display.

July 3

  • Rye Town Park and Beach, Rye :: At 7:00 p.m. come to this free concert series featuring The Reddy Valentino Orchestra.  
  • Riis Park, Harrison ::  Starting at 8:00 p.m. this free summer concert series presents the Tracy Delucia Band, followed by a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Rain date: July 6, 2018.  
  • White Plains High School, White Plains :: 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., join in on the Independence Day Celebration. Kid’s Corner starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes animals, a bubble bus, inflatable rides (cost), and entertainers. The main stage will highlight the musical stylings of West Point Benny Haven’s Band. Fireworks spectacular at dark. 

July 5

  • West Harrison Village Green, Harrison :: At 8:00 p.m. a  free summer concert series presents the musical stylings of Rock Steady.
  • Senasqua Park, Croton On Hudson ::  At 7:00 p.m. Croton’s Free Family Entertainment series presents David Levitan’s Magic. Plus, it’s snow cone night!
  • Renaissance Plaza, White Plains ::  Join this noon day concert series featuring the Tracy DeLucia Band.

July 6-8

  • Dutchess County Fair Ground, Rheinbeck :: Hudson Valley Balloon Festival is an all day event. The cost is $10 – $13. See hot air balloons, take a ride, play games and be entertained. This year even features sunrise yoga. Fun for the whole family.  

July 6

  • Lyon Park, Portchester :: From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. check out the concerts in the Park series featuring River of Dreams, the best of Billy Joel.  Concert starts at 7:00 but come early to enjoy the food trucks.  

July 8

  • Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla :: The Polish Heritage Celebration with free admission. Bring blankets and chairs and enjoy music, food, and entertainment to celebrate the rich culture of Polish heritage.  

July 9

  • Ridge Hill’s South Lawn, Yonkers :: Movies begin at sunset with pre-show activities starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets. This week’s selection, Lego Batman.  
  • Memorial Park, Larchmont :: At 7:00 p.m. the Town of Mamaroneck’s Outdoor Concert series presents the musical stylings of Twist of Fate. Bring chairs or blankets and your appetites, food and drink will be for sale. Free parking at the train station lot across the street.  
  • Riverfront, Peekskill :: From 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. the City of Peekskill’s summer children’s special series presents Magician David Levitan. Rain site: Ford Administration Building, 1031 Elm Street. 
  • Gillie Park, Gedney Way, White Plains :: 7:00 p.m. neighborhood nights. An outdoor summer series that’s fun for the whole family. Bring your picnic and blankets. Featuring Magic By Harrison.
  • Mattison Park, Quinby Avenue, White Plains :: 7:00 p.m. neighborhood nights. An outdoor summer series that’s fun for the whole family.  Bring your picnic and blankets. Featuring Ahoy Matey’s Pirate Show.

July 10

  • Rye Town Park and Beach, Rye :: From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Rye’s Twilight concert series (free) presents the musical stylings of the Urban Coyotes. Picnics allowed starting at 6:00 p.m. and music starts around 7:30 p.m. Parking is available and the event will be held rain or shine.  
  • Druss Park, South Lexington Avenue, White Plains ::  7:00 p.m. neighborhood nights. An outdoor summer series that’s fun for the whole family. Bring your picnic and blankets. Featuring Magic By Harrison.
  • Mitchell Tot Lot, White Plains ::  7:00 p.m. neighborhood nights. An outdoor summer series that’s fun for the whole family. Bring your picnic and blankets. Featuring Ahoy Matey’s Pirate Show.

July 11

  • West Harrison Village Green, Harrison :: 8:00 p.m. a free summer concert series presents the musical stylings of Back to the Garden 1969 (Woodstock tribute band).
  • Riverfront, Peekskill :: From 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. the City of Peekskill’s summer concert series presents Tracy DeLucia (country music). This is a free event. Rain site: Peekskill Middle School, 212 Ringold Street.  
  • Court Street, White Plains :: Dancing Under The Stars at 7:00 p.m. What’s more fun than a summertime dance party? Free event on Court Street between Main Street and Martin Avenue. Featuring the Sugar & Spice Girl Band.

July 12

  • Rye Town Beach, Rye :: At 7:00 p.m. head down to the beach (near the snack bar) for a family friendly magic show. Then stay for a movie under the stars. The movie, Trolls, will start around 8:30 p.m. This is a free event.
  • West Harrison Village Green, Harrison :: 8:00 pm.; this free summer concert series presents the musical stylings of Hindenburg (Led Zeplin tribute band).
  • Senasqua Park, Croton on Hudson :: At 7:00 p.m. Croton’s Free Family Entertainment Series presents the Magic Trunk. It’s popcorn night!
  • Turnure Park – Lake Street, White Plains ::  At 7:00 p.m. the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet.  Rain site: East View Middle School.
  • Renaissance Plaza, White Plains :: Noon day concert series features the music of Ricardo Gautreau.

July 13

  • Lyon Park, Portchester :: From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. the Concerts in the Park series features the Angie Rubino Band, music of the 40’s and 50’s. Concert starts at 7:00 p.m. but come early to enjoy the food trucks.

July 14 

  • Caramoor, Katonah ::  At 11:00 a.m. join the Bridge To Broadway Family Concert. Ticket prices are $7/child and $14/adult. Hear a variety of music from Mozart to Lin Manuel Miranda! Check out more information here.
  • Parkway Field, Pleasantville :: Pleasantville’s music festival is an all day affair that’s fun for the whole family. Listen to different styles of music, enjoy food, and fun.  
  • The Harvey School, Katonah :: Circus Saturday’s at 2:00 p.m. bring the whole family to enjoy a circus show and family fun.

July 15

  • Scotts Corners, Pound Ridge :: At 5:00 p.m. enjoy food truck Fridays. Popular food trucks form New York and Connecticut will be stationed at 56 Westchester Avenue from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. There will also be games and other activities.

July 16

  • Ridge Hill’s South Lawn, Yonkers :: Movies begin at sunset with pre-show activities starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets. This week’s selection, Paddington 2.
  • Memorial Park, Larchmont :: 7:00 p.m., the Town of Mamaroneck’s Outdoor Concert series presents the musical stylings of Larger Than Life (a boy band tribute). Bring chairs or blankets and your appetites, food and drink will be for sale. Free parking at the train station lot across the street.  
  • Riverfront, Peekskill :: From 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. the City of Peekskill’s summer children’s special series presents Flor Bromley’s Puppet Show. Rain site: Ford Administration Building, 1031 Elm Street. 
  • Gillie Park, Gedney Way, White Plains :: 7:00 p.m. neighborhood nights, an outdoor summer series that’s fun for the whole family. Bring your picnic and blankets. Featuring Abhoy Matey’s Pirate Show.

  • Court Street, White Plains :: 7:00 p.m. Dancing Under The Stars. What’s more fun than a summertime dance party? Free event on Court Street between Main Street and Martin Avenue. Featuring the music of Jazzmyn.

July 19

  • Vassallo Park, Croton on Hudson ::  10:00 a.m. Croton’s free family entertainment series presents Professor Pickles’ Wondershow.
  • Renaissance Plaza, White Plains :: Noon day concert series features the music of Ivan Polanco.

July 20

  • Harbor Island, Mamaroneck :: From 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. the third annual Tiki Invasion will feature bonfires, live music, and s’mores. Food trucks will be on site. There will be an outdoor screening of Jumanji at dusk. This is a free event.
  • Lyon Park, Portchester :: From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. the Concerts in the Park series features Bronx Express, music of the 50’s. Concert starts at 7:00 p.m. but come early to enjoy the food trucks.
  • Riverfront, Peekskill :: From 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. the city of Peekskill’s summer family movie night presents Cars 3. This is a free event.  

July 21

  • The Harvey School, Katonah :: Circus Saturday’s at 2:00 p.m. bring the whole family to enjoy a circus show and family fun.

July 23

  • Ridge Hill’s South Lawn, Yonkers :: Movies begin at sunset with pre-show activities starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets. This week’s selection, Coco.
  • Memorial Park, Larchmont :: At 7:00 p.m. the town of Mamaroneck’s Outdoor Concert series presents the music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s presented by Book Ends. Bring chairs or blankets and your appetites, food and drink will be for sale. Free parking at the train station lot across the street.  
  • Riverfront, Peekskill :: From 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.  the ciity of Peekskill’s summer children’s special series presents Comedy and Juggling with Will Shaw. Rain site: Ford Administration Building, 1031 Elm Street.

July 26

  • Senasqua Park, Croton on Hudson :: At 7:00 p.m. Croton’s Free Family Entertainment Series Presents Jonathan Kruk’s Story Theater. It’s snow cone night!
  • Renaissance Plaza, White Plains :: Noon day concert series features the music of Good Clean Fun.

July 27

  • Lyon Park, Portchester :: From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Concerts in the Park series features The Red Hots, Jazz, Blues and Swing music. Concert starts at 7:00 p.m. but come early to enjoy the food trucks.

July 27 -28

  • Rye Town Park, Rye :: From 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Shakespeare in the Park, will be held on the lawn by the small pavilion. The Lawnchair Theatre company will present performances of the Tempest. Free event.
