Bloom: An Event for New and Expecting Moms

Westchester County Moms Blog is so excited to host our first annual Bloom event just for new and expectant moms! We are partnering with City Moms Blog Network, Baby+Mom Fit, more than 50 of our other sister sites, and some amazing national and local brands to bring Bloom: An Event for New & Expectant Moms to Westchester.

Bloom is geared towards moms (and dads, grandmas, aunts, and friends, too!) who are currently expecting a baby, had a baby within the last year, or are planning on growing their family soon. We are thrilled to host this year’s Bloom event at The Budarz Theater in the Ossining Public Library, and provide an evening of food, drinks, educational resources, fun activities, pampering,  giveaways and swag, and connect moms and families with relevant local resources.

Who: New and expecting moms (and dads/grandmas/aunts/friends) in the Westchester and Hudson Valley area, Westchester County Moms Blog, and City Moms Blog Network
What: A special event just for moms, featuring national and local brands and services moms love and need to know about, a panel of experts to lead a Q&A session, swag, giveaways, adorable DIY crafts to make,  food and drinks, professional photos, pampering, and more!
Where: Budarz Theater and Gallery, Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Avenue, Ossining, NY
Why: We’re hosting this event to introduce new and expecting moms to the many services and products available in Westchester and the Hudson Valley, as a way to help them along in their family planning/pregnancy/post partum/journey into motherhood.

We’re so excited to introduce you to our amazing sponsors.

First up is our title sponsor, Baby+Mom Fit.
Baby+Mom Fit was created by local mom Norma La Vecchia, a local mom and trainer who saw a need for a class that acommodates mom and baby! Classes focus on training while wearing baby (so the baby acts as a weighted vest), which enables moms to get in shape, bond with their babies, feel great, and make some new friends. Stop by and say hi to Norma at Bloom, and she’ll fill you in on how to get back into shape after baby in a low pressure, high fun environment!

Smushed Organics is a homemade organic baby food delivery service in the New York/New Jersey metro area. Our mission is to help parents start their children on a path towards a healthy lifestyle by providing delicious baby food made from fresh, organic ingredients, and creating unique flavor profiles that expand each baby’s palate. We cook our purees every week in our commercial kitchen in Brooklyn. Our ingredients include fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Some combinations include organic grains, legumes and spices as well as healthy fats such as coconut oil and olive oil. Our menu is updated every week based on seasonality and availability of the various varietals of fresh fruits and vegetables. Currently, customers can subscribe to one of two packages (Classic or Little Explorer), and can select either a ‘Smooth’ or ‘Textured’ consistency. We are currently delivering to customers in NYC, Brooklyn, Hoboken, and Jersey City, but have started to expand to other areas in NY and NJ as well. Visit us on Facebook and Instagram (@smushedorganics), and our website (smushedorganics.com) to see our menu and learn more about us!

Our mission is to raise the next generation of healthy, happy babies. It’s our job as parents—and it’s our job as part of team Babyganics, where we make the kind of products that help families create their baby-safe world.

Every Babyganics product starts with a spark and a purpose. Whether it’s the latest scientific research, input from families and fans, or the creativity of our own tiny explorers, it’s all inspiring, and it’s all good. Nothing we make exists “just because.”

MiMa Photography

I am a New York-based family and children photographer with a flare for fun. I love to photograph families and kids through play. My goal is to capture a child’s true essence. When you photograph a child through play they forget that someone is taking their picture … they are just in the moment. This also works when photographing families and executives, although it is less “play” and more about helping them let their guard down. So a little about me. I am a avid Nikon shooter, mom to three amazing kids and married to the most caring and supportive husband. I am a Gemini. I love the color purple, gardening and my two dogs. My love of photography was inherited from my mom. She always had her camera and wanted to capture every moment of my childhood. Once I became a mom, I saw the importance of documenting a kid’s life and I naturally fell in love with photography.
